Mr. Arthur C. "Art" Snyder, 86, of Cayce, Kentucky died 12:05 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Carl Mills will officiate. Burial will follow in Rush Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cayce, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Snyder, Mark Morgan, Ricky Mangold, Travis Mangold and Jeremy Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Davis Mangold, Ron Mangold, Steve Jones, Nicholas Snisky and Jance Snisky.
Mr. Snyder was born July 14, 1926 in Renovo, Pennsylvania. He had been employed as a apprentice program teacher for Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi and a welding instructor at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Mr. Snyder had also been employed as a vocational instructor at Fulton County High School in Hickman, Kentucky. He was a Church of Christ minister and was a World War II Navy veteran and a Korean War Army veteran.
Mr. Snyder is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ruby Lee (Davis) Jones Snyder of Cayce, Kentucky; his children, Sammy Snyder of Memphis, Christine Morgan of Union City, Art Snyder, Jr. of New York, Connie Herman of Rolling Fork, Mississippi, Anthony W. Snyder of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Catherine Howery of New Market and Donnie L. Jones of Dyersburg; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and his special friend, George Zuber.
He was preceded in death by his father, A.W. Snyder; and his step son, Leon Earl Jones, Jr.
