Anita (Hopkins) McClanahan, 56, of Union City passed away 6:25 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens near Fulton, Kentucky.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Michael McClanahan, Heath Maddox, Eugene Hudgins, Larry Armstrong, Eddie Thompson and Kenny Parker.
Anita was born September 20, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Eva (Wilson) and Jesse Wallace of Union City and the late Jerry Mac Hopkins. She married Michael McClanahan March 19, 1994. He survives. Anita was retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as a production coordinator. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Union City.
She is also survived by one sister, Shari (Kenny) Byassee of Union City; two stepsisters, Anita Bobo and Shauna (Steve) Jones all of Obion; one stepbrother, Eddie (Suzanne) Wallace of Union City; one sister-in-law, Vickie (W.G.) Maddox of South Fulton; two nieces, Kendal Byassee of Nashville and Chantelle Campbell of Hornbeak; and two nephews, Kyle Byassee of Houston, Texas and Heath Maddox of Nashville.
She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Byron and Louise Wilson; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Everett Lee McClanahan and Wanda May (Stallins) McClanahan.
