Obituary

Anita Lavon Long, 60, of Union City passed away 8:35 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Fulton Nursing & Rehab Center.

Memorial services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Troy. Brother Johnie Dalton will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Ararat Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Mt. Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Anita was born February 25, 1962, in Memphis, daughter of the late Frank Long and the late Glenda (Lovelace) Long. She had been employed at the former Gurien Finishing Company.

She is survived by one daughter, Dee Price (William) of Dyersburg; two sons, Thomas Kirk (Alisse) of Martin and Kevin Kirk (Heather) of Union City; her stepmother, Genece Long of Troy; two sisters, Connie Tomlin (Don) of Biloxi, Mississippi and Tina Smith of Rising City, Nebraska; two brothers, Mike Long (Laurie) of Gleason and John Long (Tanya) of Troy; two stepsisters, Carol Terrell (Alan) and Kristi Johnson all of Union City; two stepbrothers, Jeff Huff (Jackie) of the Walnut Log community and Andy Huff of Union City; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one infant son, Derek Martin; and one sister, Denise Stover.
