Mr. Amos J. Brown, 81, of the Polk Station community died 5:20 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Troy First Baptist Church. Dr. Vann Kissell will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Obion.
Visitation will be held at Troy First Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Stan Haskins, Patrick Haskins, Mike Grady, Clint Wilson, J.C. Ursery and Josh Choate.
Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Brown was born July 26, 1933, in Obion County, son of the late Andrew Brown, Sr. and the late Ida (Walker) Brown. He married Imogene (Donnell) Brown July 2, 1955. She survives. Mr. Brown was retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and was a member of Troy First Baptist Church.
He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and James H. Ursery of Troy and Connie M. and Alan Terrell of Union City; one son, Dwayne Brown of the Polk Station community; one sister, Betty Eddings of Summerville, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Deanna Wilson of Union City, Shane McDaniel of Murray, Kentucky, Delana Smith of South Fulton, Austin Brown of Obion and Kari Brown of Troy and seven great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
