Alice Rebecca Howerton, 86, of Troy passed away 3:20 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020, at West Tennessee Health Care Dyersburg Hospital.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Alice was born August 5, 1934, in Lauderdale County, daughter of the late Huse and Lucille (Maxwell) Crook. She married Don Howerton November 26, 1983. He survives. Alice retired from Schering-Plough in Memphis after 23 years of service. She was a member of Troy United Methodist Church and Good Sam's RV Group in Jackson.

She is also survived by two daughters, Patricia Birtch of Pensacola, Florida and Teresa Barnett of Lake Jackson, Texas; one son, Dwayne Massongill of Nashville; one step daughter, Dr. Kimberly Howerton of Jackson; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her brother; and her half sister.
