Alex Anton, 27, of the Walnut Log Community passed away Monday, May 3, 2021

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2021, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Eric Burress will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Surratt, Jordan Surratt, Austin Anton, Dillon Anton, Hunter Carter, Jo Hamilton III and Jacob Daniels.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2021.

Alex was born January 6, 1994, in Memphis, son of Sonya (Robey) Anton of the Walnut Log community and the late Gene Anton. Alex was a 2012 graduate of Obion County Central High School where he was Salutatorian of his class and a member of the Beta Club. He had been employed as a conductor and locomotive engineer with CN Railroad and as a maintenance technician for Williams Sausage Company. Alex enjoyed hunting, fishing and grilling.

He is also survived by his companion, Melissa O'Mar of Hickman, Kentucky; four brothers, Dustin Surratt (Rachel) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Jordan Surratt (Chelsey) of Whiteville and Austin Anton and Dillon Anton both of the Walnut Log community; his grandparents, Pat and Jerry Surratt of Olive Branch, Mississippi, his nephew, Eli Surratt of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and his uncles, Steve Anton of Walls, Mississippi and David Robey of San Jose, California; and his cousin, Angela Robey of Michigan.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Robey and Frederick and Patricia Anton.
