December 5, 1942 – September 14, 2020
Mr. Odis Alfred "Al" Anderson, 77, of Union City passed away 11:20 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2020, at Journey Senior Living in Merrilville, Indiana.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Mr. Anderson was born December 5, 1942, in McKenzie, son of the late Frank and Lala Mae (Childress) Anderson. Al was a retired employee of AT&T Communications and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, old cars and listening to blues and jazz music. Al had served in the United States Army.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Pui Shan "Alex" Anderson of Glenwood, Illinois and Jeffrey and Jennifer Anderson of Cedar Lake, Indiana; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Wanda Buchanan of the Pleasant Hill community and Judy and Rickey Smith of Belfast, Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Katelyn Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Kasey Mae Anderson, Kourtney Anderson and Noah Anderson.
He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jerry Buchanan.
